Porridge is boring right?

Not if you know how to add that little bit of excitement to it.

Porridge is a fabulous way to start your day as it’s slow releasing, meaning you feel full for longer and packed with fibre!

So how do we make porridge a bit more exciting and delicious?

What you’ll need:

Porridge Oats
Semi-Skimmed Milk
One Large Apple
Cinnamon
Almonds

1. Place the oats and milk in a pan over a low heat. Make sure that the amount of milk just covers the amount of oats you have as they will expand.

 

2. While this is heating up, peel your apple and chop your almonds for toppings.

 

3. Keep stirring the oats and milk in the pan until the oats have expanded. Careful not the let the porridge boil and it will alter the flavour.

 

4. As the porridge is almost cooked put the peeled apple on a plate and microwave for 1 minute.

 

5. Add the chopped, hot apple and almonds to your freshly made porridge and serve.

 

 

Voila! Delicious porridge that tastes like apple pie full of healthy fats and vitamins!
