Kids can sometimes be hard to please and not very encouraging when it comes to your weight loss journey. So here are a few healthy meals they can have to help them be healthier but also to support you.
1. Egg and Soldiers
I love egg and soldiers and your kids will too. It’s a fun way for them to eat a healthy breakfast but in their own way.
Eggs are a great source of protein (for growth and repair) as well as containing healthy fats required by your body. By using brown/wholemeal bread it adds fibre into their diet too.
2. Make your own fajitas
Kids like to have their independence sometimes and fajitas are a great way of getting in vital vitamins. When serving, use a lean meat such as chicken or turkey and have a large array of vegetables on offer for fillings eg) Cucumber, Peppers, lettuce etc …
Using wholemeal wraps will also means that they are getting a good amount of fibre in their diet.
3. Chicken Kebabs
Want to make any food a big more exciting? Put it on a stick. I cannot tell you how many times I have had a problem with my kids eating their dinner, put it on a stick? No problem.
As well as it being a magical way of making kids eat their food it also has a good protein content.
.
4. Turkey Burgers
Turkey is a very lean meat which means that it contains very little fat, making it a great choice when you’re trying to trim that waistline. Add in a few tomatoes and lettuce for that extra crunch to make it extra satisfying.
.
and lastly …Mixed Bean Chilli with Wedges
Use pork mince to cut down on the fat content and voila! You have a delicious dinner which will keep your inside warm and healthy. Beans are a great source of protein and are choca with good nutrients.
The wedges add a bit of fun as kids can dip them in the chilli.
